I know it isn’t Friday yet, but I am longing for it. My Friday night ritual (after all the emails are done and my phone stops ringing) is to have 1-2 glasses of wine to let go of the week’s stress. I am no wine snob, but I usually go for the $12-$15 bottle of wine from the liquor store down the street that has a pretty large selection so-so dusty bottles of wine. This really is a waste since I usually only make it through two glasses of wine before I pass out on the couch. I end up dumping the rest of the bottle the following Friday and starting all over. A couple weekends ago, Evan went to the liquor store and came home with the best thing ever, Black Box wine. I know, I know, box wine doesn’t have the greatest of reputations, but this stuff is as least as good as the $10-$12 bottle of wine if not better than some of the more expensive bottles I’ve had lately. I was introduced to Black Box in Arkansas during our Bunko nights. It stays fresh, unlike my bottles that I dump every Friday and it tastes good. Plus, he picked this up for $20. It is equivalent to 4 bottles of wine. That’s a deal if I ever heard one. If you are like me and need your bottle to last a little longer than a day, I definitely recommend trying out the Black Box. I am working on the Cabernet at the moment, but the white wines are pretty good, too. These are great for upcoming summer entertaining and I am so looking forward to having my glass tomorrow after work.
