HE WON!!!

What an exciting night it was. Do you have any idea how hard it was to keep that a secret? I don’t do secrets, ask anyone. The party turned out spectacular. We had 24 guests to share the moment with. Everyone screamed and toasted champagne when the winner, MY BROTHER, was announced. It felt like New Years Eve. I’ll have to watch the show again without guests so I can catch all the little moments. There was so much cheering and laughing that I’m sure I missed some things. I can’t believe how much air time I got! I thought maybe a glimpse from the front row, but there were a ton of of shots. Every time my face flashed on the screen the group went wild. It was so much fun. One of my friends said that she had gotten her hair done right before the show and overheard two women talking in the salon and say something to the affect of, “I heard Christian’s sister lives here in Arkansas and is having a big party tonight, wish I was invited.” Isn’t that crazy?

We had the whole living room set up to look like the fashion week tent. We hung white bed sheets from the ceiling fan and down the wall, brought out all of our folding chairs and even painted a wooden runway. I made goodie bags for all of our guests. In the goodie bags was a photocopy of the TRESemme add in Elle Magazine, (I didn't invest in a copy for everyone) a travel sized TRESemme hair spray, a bag of Reese’s peanut butter cups, a package of Kleenex with a sticker “Hold for Ricky” and an autographed photo of my little brother (curtsey of Brad Walsh). People went crazy for those goodie bags.

The pictures didn’t turn out very good, but we were so crazy with party prep we weren’t worried about good pictures. Sorry.

I will post more about the party later this week. I have more pictures and some great easy recipes that I want to share.

Thank you all for the amazing messages the past week. I really do appreciate all the kind words for my brother and me. It makes my day to get messages from his admirers.

Yeah, as I was sitting at home, it dawned on me that you knew all along! I don't know how that escaped me, but kudos to you for keeping the secret!

You really went all out for the party! How many bedsheets did you buy? And WalMart must love you for buying all the Tresemme product!

What a kick. I can't wait to see the recipes and photos!

He really IS fierce! I cried when I saw him get emotional before they told him he won. (I have to admit that I didn't love him in the beginning of PR, but he won me over by the end.)

I would've have had a hard time keeping that secret too! Congratulations on that too...

I wandered through your blog & really like it...you have done some really cute things! And I am now longing for a cupcake...

Congratulations to you and to Christian. I am always happy to see a family support talent like this. And your party looked so awesome. Were you wearing something he made? How much fun. I also love so much that the most talented designer and the designer who made the fashion FUN yet stylish won. Yahoo.

Hi Shannon,

It sounds like your party was a blast. We're jealous! You even had swag bags? You're too much. LOL. That's so fabulous.

Your brother looked so happy at the TRESemme party and the crowd went C-R-A-Z-Y when Heidi announced him as the winner.

I rewatched the show.
What were you wearing? It looked great! Did your brother design it?

And I notice he said he's going on a "VACAY and a breaky-breaky" real soon. Is he driving that Astra to see you?

Anyway, thanks for the feedback on my son. He starts at 6:30 a.m. this Saturday. We are thrilled!

Shannon, just wanted to tell you how glad (and how unsurprised) I was when Christian won. I have been checking in on your blog occasionally since it was mentioned in Blogging Project Runway. Christian is incredibly talented, and I know you are very happy for him. I loved your party decorations and bags - what a cute idea! I hope you are enjoying NW Arkansas. I am from SE Ark, but I lived in Fayetteville for a while and much later my son lived in Rogers and worked at the museum, and I visited him several times. Wow, NW Ark has really changed since my college years 40 years ago! And WOW, TLO reads your blog! That is a major kudo! Best wishes!

I'm sorry that I haven't responded sooner. Thank you all for the amazing notes of support and happiness for my brother's win. His head is still swirling. I told him all about the response that I've been getting (since he still doesn't have a computer) and he was happy to hear it.

A very speical thanks to Tom and Lorenzo and the crew at Blogging Project Runway, Laura K, TBone and The Scarlett. You guys are amazing.

jw.. y doesn't he have a computer?

and when exactly will he have one?

Shannon said...

He doesn't have a computer because he is totally broke and can barely pay his bills. As soon as he gets the money for his winnings he is buying a bed and a new computer.
